Welcome to The Living Christian Network
Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. (James.4:13-14) (KJV)
While our thoughts may be on heaven, we need to live on this earth. Abraham, the father of faith, the friend of God, still went to war to rescue his nephew Lot. Paul, the founder of churches, still made tents so that he could eat, and Luke doctored his patients. While exercising their faith, each continued in his earthly profession. There is a reticence amongst Christians to openly exercise our faith while earning our keep. A shyness in expressing our Christianity and relationship with Jesus Christ. We do not owe the world excuses or silence.
We need to live out our faith in the world, on the street, at our places of learning, at home and the market place.
This restraint is unjustified. Christianity is a living faith. It is a faith that needs to be lived every day and everywhere. We must remember what Jesus said:
Mat 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
And that means you. We need to acknowledge who we are and Who we represent. I was once told by a prominent businessperson in the community that there was no way he could be profitable if he practised his faith at his place of business.
It was not long after this acknowledgement that he left the church and became fully immersed in the ways of the world.
Work, play, family, and faith are inseparable. There is very little in life that is not addressed, one way or another, in the Bible if you care to look deep enough.
Take any situation or need you might have, whether it has to do with family, business, leadership or life in general you will find the answers you are looking for within those wonderful pages.
